Public Perceptions and Attitudes Toward Adolescent Marijuana Use: Results of a State-Wide Survey

摘要: The purpose of the current study is to examine patterns in public perceptions and attitudes toward marijuana use among adolescents. Computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) was used collect data from a statewide sample adults Michigan identified through random-digit dialing (n = 560). CATI interviews were supplemented with web- paper-based surveys for nonrespondents. We latent class analysis characterize perception, using vignette technique that assessed (a) whether recognize adolescent as problem, (b) how they view efficacy treatment, (c) help-seeking mental health professionals, (d) support prevention services Multinomial logistic regression relationship between membership demographics, substance use, methodological factors. Three classes identified: discriminating group, low-concern high-concern group. Age strongest determinants Results provide insight into general perceives marijuana-related problems
