摘要: Pyrenophora tritici-repentis, the causal agent of tan spot wheat, produces Ptr ToxB (ToxB), a chlorosis-inducing host-selective toxin. To define sequence requirements for chlorosis induction, biological activity chimeric proteins that contain combinations three coding regions from and/or an inactive allele toxb, was tested. Results indicate that, although entire is required to trigger full symptom development, N-terminal region plays critical role in site-directed mutagenesis two amino acids differ between and toxb that: 1) each these acid essential complete 2) surrounding first cysteine residue necessary proper folding protein. We conclude does not single contiguous motif sufficient confer activity.
