Applicability of the Demirjian method for dental age estimation in western Turkish children.

摘要: AbstractObjective. The aim of this study was to examine whether the Demirjian method would be appropriate for estimation dental age western Turkish children. Materials and methods. This comprised 635 children (age = 7–16 years) from Aegean region who were chosen on basis radiological evidence digital orthopantomograms. Their maturity evaluated according stages proposed by Demirjian. A paired t-test used statistical analysis. Results. mean difference between chronological ages ranged 0.10–0.76 years males 0.28–0.87 females. Conclusion. applicability is not suitable have a lower degree than that observed in eastern, northeastern northern subjects.
