摘要: Downy mildew infected ragi plants exhibits a wide range of symptoms. Histopathological studies the diseased plant have revealed that fungus mycelium is present in root, stem, floral parts and seed causing morphological anatomical changes. The develops profusely sub-stomatal spaces from this sporangiophores emerge through stomata. In leaf tissue invaded by fungus, chloroplasts leucoplasts are either few or absent. Cells mesophyll case leaves distorted. Sometimes, cells dissolve sex organs occupy space thus created. tissue, intercellular surrounding vascular sheaths primary centres mycelial development. mostly confined to vicinity bundles. leaf, very epidermal hairs developed.
