摘要: Abstract Twenty-five silver cones were removed from teeth which had been treated endodontically 3 months to 20 years previously. Examination by the scanning electron microscope revealed that these moderately severely corroded. The corrosion patterns described as ranging pitting deep crater formation with globular or spherical agglomerations. Examinations probe showed sulfur peaks on corroded portions of cones. X-ray diffraction analyses indicated chemical compounds formed sulfides, sulfates, carbonates, and amine sulfate amide hydrates. Tissue culture studies products highly cytotoxic. mechanisms for have postulated being due plastic deformations metal transfer cones, plus contact tissue fluids.
