摘要: The most typical thermal insulating materials used in the cathode lining aluminium electrolysis cells are Moler, calcium silicate, or vermiculite. insulation is important for overall and dimensional stability of cell. chemical important, especially cases where refractory layer above becomes fully penetrated by sodium vapour. degradation vapours has been investigated a laboratory test resembling environments lining. exposed were with respect to changes microstructure mineralogical composition combination optical electronic microscopy powder X-ray diffraction. These investigations revealed different reaction patterns three formation new phases identified. Finally, these findings compared reactions based on computational thermodynamics.
