摘要: The first initial data for black-hole binaries were derived from analytic time-symmetric multihole solutions of Misner and Lindquist in the early 1960s. These served as a test-bed all pioneering eorts to evolve collision. major revolution this field was introduced by Bowen York 1980, allowed time-asymmetric representing boosted spinning holes, required numerical solution single scalar boundary-value problem. Initial-data methods based on Bowen-York extrinsic curvature developed explored over last 25 years these are still widely used binary evolutions. However, past 5 years, second has taken place that promises yield is much more astrophysically realistic. new initial-data sets computationally expensive construct their full physical content being explored. In talk, we will look at method constructing data, see what it does well, where needs further improvement.
