摘要: The transmission of microwaves through an array 100 scatterers inserted into a waveguide is studied. length each scatterer could be varied individually, thus allowing the realization arbitrary scattering arrangements. For periodic sequences with varying period found bands reproduced Hofstadter butterfly, originally predicted for spectra conduction electrons in strong magnetic fields. In experiment it was used that same transfer matrix formalism applicable to both microwave and electronic systems.
