A critical analysis of theoretical models for the giant Raman effect from adsorbed molecules

摘要: Abstract We analyze several theoretical models which have recently been proposed in an attempt to explain the anomalously high Raman intensity from molecules adsorbed onto metal surfaces. classify theories according their primary mechanism, pointing out similarities and differences, some not previously recognized print. present a critical analysis of conceptual basis outline experimental implications each theory. conclude that serious problems associated assumptions, other brought into question by recent results. propose additional experiments would help clarify situation.
