摘要: Structural neuroimaging and postmortem histopathological studies of the brain have revealed morphological changes in cortical subcortical regions individuals diagnosed with depression. Moreover, these are known to be functionally altered mood disorders. This indicates that might directly involved pathophysiology depression, implies antidepressants may able regulate or reverse detected structural abnormalities. Work animal models has shown capable inducing alterations dendrites axons numbers neural cells. However, there been no human addressed whether antidepressant treatment can depression-related changes. Nevertheless, experience lithium bipolar disorder antipsychotics schizophrenia suggests psychotropic drugs result consistent reversion towards normal values. Clearly, ascertaining role reversal therapeutic actions will require further longitudinal careful comparisons between those patients who treated not.
