During period study, 896 children attending outpatient laboratory general hospital screened 514 completed study. data which collected before venipuncture included expected state anxiety. Following venipuncture, intensity measured vertical visual analogue scale (VAS) affect assessed McGrath's faces scale. Significant main effects for obtained. Pain lowest group highest group. scores greatest lower higher groups. results this study support use children's need interventions procedural pain.
