摘要: A demand-driven approach is becoming increasingly central in the efforts to improve agricultural research and development. However, question of how exactly demand studied usually remains unstated rarely discussed. We therefore carried out a systematic review order better understand farmers’ for seed root, tuber banana systems studied. The based on data from consultation with an expert panel structured literature search SCOPUS database. Screening gathered articles resulted 46 studies global scale, fitting scope our investigation. Through qualitative analysis categorization these studies, we developed classification scheme according types approaches applied retained studies. One group explicitly articulates preferences choices through surveys or engagements trials, auctions, choice experiments interviews. Other implicitly articulate by characterising their current use varieties seed. discuss opportunities limitations each type study reflect body available as whole. Our conclusion that framework necessary purposefully combines existing different methods it involve stakeholders process where articulated. Together, two steps would characterise demands more effective precise way, thus providing guidance decision-makers reactions pertaining systems.
