摘要: Abstract Binding of Escherichia coli heat-stable enterotoxin (STa) to its putative receptor on the brush border membrane enterocytes is a prerequisite for induction diarrhea in infected humans and animals. Humans animals different ages vary their susceptibility effect STa, perhaps due difference STa interaction with intestinal receptor. Flow cytometry was compared indirect immunofluorescence 125 I –STa binding assays measure STa–enterocytes age groups Swiss Webster mice (2-, 7-, 14-day-old). indicated stronger between from 2-day-old than older mice. –STa-binding assay suggested that fluorescence intensity younger higher density affinity STa. more sensitive quantitative microscopy.
