摘要: This review will focus on the use of chicken and quail as model systems to analyze myogenesis such emphasize experimental approaches that are strongest in these systems—the amenability avian embryo manipulation ovo observation. During somite differentiation, a wide spectrum developmental processes occur cellular migration, fusion. Cell lineage studies combined with recent advancements cell imaging allow biological phenomena be readily observed hypotheses tested extremely rapidly—a strength is restricted system. A clear weakness past has been genetic modulate gene function. Recent advances electroporation expression vectors, siRNA constructs, tissue specific reporters have opened door increasingly sophisticated experiments address questions interest not only somite/muscle field particular but also fundamental biology general. Importantly, an ever-growing body evidence indicates differentiation birds indistinguishable mammals; therefore, complement complex models mouse.
