摘要: This report presents an ultrasonic method for defect detection in rails that substantially differs from conventional rail inspection. The main difference is the use of guided waves traveling along running direction. These have potential improved reliability detecting transverse cracks and inspection speed when compared to inspections. Extensive experimental numerical tests been conducted demonstrate capabilities both small large head. Advanced signal processing based on wavelet transforms automatic pattern recognition has implemented testing. Finally, impact hammers, pulsed lasers air coupled sensors investigated as practical ways perform testing field.
