摘要: Abstract The Paymogo Volcano-Sedimentary Alignment (PVSA) is an essentially igneous sequence associated with VHMS deposits of the Iberian Pyrite Belt. Unlike other areas this mining district, where mafic rocks are abundant, in PVSA these felsic. Two facies associations have been distinguished based on petrographic and chemical features: a lower dacite association upper rhyolite association. main ore horizons appear related to volcanic breccias A detailed study suggests they resedimented hyaloclastite deposits. analysis indicates that volcanism developed at water depths deeper than 500 m, consistent minimum depth which can form. We conclude volcanological studies provide effective constraints palaeoenvironmental interpretations, relevant assessing regional stratigraphy area selection for exploration.
