摘要: Spinal cord injury (SCI) has been associated with a marked increase in bone loss and remodeling, especially short-term after injury. The absence of mechanical load, mediated by osteocyte mechanosensory function, seems to be causative factor related this condition. However, the pathogenesis clinical management process remain unclear. Therefore, aim study was analyze effect recent SCI on Wnt pathway antagonists, sclerostin Dickkopf (Dkk-1), their relationship turnover mineral density (BMD) evolution. Forty-two patients (aged 35 ± 14yrs) ( 58 pmol/L) at baseline showed higher sublesional BMD loss. In conclusion, shows that there is loss, latter an Dkk-1 serum levels. persistence increased levels antagonist throughout magnitude suggests contributory role mediator process. © 2014 American Society for Bone Mineral Research.
