摘要: Abstract Present study was designed to compare cytoprotective and antigenotoxic activity of the polyphenolic fraction Pilea microphylla (PM1) with that its active constituents against γ-radiation in V79 cells. PM1 standardized respect polyphenols present by RP-HPLC. It evaluated for free radical scavenging potential using Fenton reaction-induced DNA damage lipid peroxidation. Further, subjected γ-radiation-induced cytotoxicity genotoxicity significantly reduced radical-mediated calf thymus Among concentrations tested (12.5, 25 50 μg/ml) radioprotection, at 25 μg/ml exhibited maximum protection. when compared constituent viz., rutin, quercetin chlorogenic acid (concentrations equivalent PM1-25 μg/ml), a combination found most effective preventing genotoxicity. To conclude, radioprotection is possibly synergistic effect phytochemicals herbal extract, rather than any single component.
