摘要: The poor bioavailability and therapeutic response exhibited by conventional ophthalmic solutions due to rapid precorneal elimination of the drug may be overcome use in situ gel-forming systems that are instilled as drops into eye undergo a sol-gel transition cul-de-sac. present work describes formulation evaluation an delivery system antibacterial agent, ofloxacin, based on concept pH-triggered gelation. Polyacrylic acid (Carbopol 940) was used gelling agent combination with hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (Methocel E50LV) which acted viscosity enhancing agent. developed therapeutically efficacious, stable, non-irritant provided sustained release over 8-h period. is thus viable alternative drops.
