摘要: Transposable elements (TEs) are ubiquitous in arthropods. However, analyses of large-scale and long-term coevolution between TEs host genomes remain scarce Here, we choose 14 representative Arthropoda species from eight orders spanning more than 500 million years evolution. By developing an unbiased TE annotation pipeline, obtained 87 to 2266 reference sequences a species, which is considerable improvement compared the previously annotated Repbase. We find that loads diversified among were underestimated. The highly species- time-specific expansions contractions, intraspecific sequence diversification leading driver long terminal repeat (LTR) dynamics Lepidoptera. Terminal inverted repeats (TIRs) proliferated substantially five with large genomes. A phylogenetic comparison reveals multiple subfamilies positively correlated genome sizes. also identified few horizontally transferred candidates across nine species. In addition, set up Arthropod Elements database (ArTEdb) provide references annotations. Collectively, our results high-quality uncover expansion histories vary greatly arthropods, implies important driving force shaping evolution through gain loss.
