摘要: Abstract The main objective of this research is to investigate whether or not Lean Production tools can help reduce the environmental impacts manufacturing companies. based on empirical observation inside five European companies that manufacture motorcycle components and which are also committed management. production processes were observed measured before after implementation tools: Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, cellular manufacturing, Single Minute Exchange Die (SMED) Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Comparison quantitative results reveals interesting novel contribute effects impacts. In particular, VSM be used identify processes. 5S useful for reducing oil leakage improving waste Cellular lead a decrease in electricity consumption, whereas TPM several machines, such as emissions dusts chemical fumes into atmosphere. By contrast, no significant improvement was SMED. result revealed other positive concerning consumption general well standardization activities worker behavior. originality lies observing measuring tools, inviting further toward model greening
