摘要: Summary Iodine, as potassium iodide in solution, was added to samples of 24 surface soils, 15 subsoils and 16 mixtures sand with other materials representing soil components, at 10 μg iodine/g soil. The extent volatilisation the iodine measured after 30 days' exposure a well-ventilated room. With many soils negligible although an acid sandy podsol it amounted 57 per cent added. Eleven induced amounting > that alone, having pH 5.7, 100 cent, ranged from nil cent. Organic matter reduced volatilisation, probably by retaining bound form. Montmorillonite, kaolinite ferric oxide also comparison but had less effect than did organic matter. Calcium carbonate, general reducing through its influence on hence retention materials, caused no reduction when alone.
