摘要: There is increasing awareness of the need to meaningfully engage society in efforts tackle marine conservation challenges. Public perceptions research (PPR) a context provides tools see sea through multiple lenses with which interprets both environment and efforts. Traditionally, PPR predominantly social science has considerable interdisciplinarity, owing variety disciplines contribute its delivery benefit from outputs. Similarly, subjects application are diverse, relate public any component or activity. Evidence shows this growing area science, paper presents qualitative approach addressing key questions inform continuing development field workshop held at Third International Marine Conservation Congress 2014. Key findings discussed under themes 1) benefits conservation; 2) priorities for support 3) making accessible practitioners policy makers; 4) interdisciplinary collaboration deliver PPR. The supported framework illustrates: conditions can take place; types be used address; applications delivered. As gains an presence conservation, it hoped that discussion will researchers identify opportunities benefits, work together achieve these.
