Orofacial Myofunctional Disorder In Subjects with Temporomandibular Disorder

摘要: To determine the frequency and degree of orofacial myofunctional disorder (OMD) in a sample patients with temporomandibular (TMD), dental records 240 diagnosis TMD were reviewed. Mean patient age mean duration, gender frequency, complaints, signs symptoms calculated. The results showed that studied was quite characteristic group. presence following signs/symptoms significant: muscular pain, TMJ joint noise, at least one otologic symptom, headache, neck shoulder pain. Most subjects presented some OMD, grade high prevailing over low. importance evaluating stomatognathic structures functions during clinical examination is emphasized.
