摘要: ABSTRACT Although dramatic millipede outbreaks have been reported worldwide, there is no data available on the intrinsic rate of increase (rm) these arthropods. This parameter was estimated in west-European Polydesmus angustus Latzel, a seasonally-breeding species with mixed 1-yr and 2-yr life cycles within populations. Individuals from 20 broods were reared throughout their cycle under seasonal conditions simulated laboratory (monthly mean temperatures naturally varying photoperiods), to determine age-specific survival fertility annual (1-yr cycle) biennial (2-yr females. The finite (λm) calculated using periodic matrix model rm found be 5.85 per year. estimate suggests that polydesmidan greenhouses or favorable field can generated by small number fertilized females 2 yr. relevance measure year long-lived art...
