摘要: The research first proposes a vocabulary learning technique: the word part technique, and then tests its effectiveness in aiding retention. The part of thesis centers around idea that knowledge first 2000 words language learners already possess may give them easier access to of other frequency levels because root parts low new share form meaning similarities with high known words. research addresses issue at two stages: quantify information concerning number of words able be accessed through analysis roots, analyze the pedagogical usefulness accessible words. A Comprehensive Etymological Dictionary English Language (Klein, 1966) was used as source show possible formal connections among words.
