摘要: Previous research reveals that the characteristics and practices of a child's family are important determinants its chances surviving beyond childhood. This study investigates effects consanguinity on family's odds experiencing death child in Pakistan, society which marriage among close relatives is common. Analysis data from 1991 Pakistan Demographic Health Survey first cousin marriages increase couple's risk enduring one or more their children. These couples 1.18 times as likely to have die by fifth birthday than not related blood net other factors associated with mortality. Elimination would contribute modest decrease proportion Pakistani families suffering child.
