摘要: Objective Although the efficacy of family-based behavioral treatment for moderate pediatric obesity has been well established, few studies have focused on severe obesity. We sought to evaluate acceptability and feasibility a intervention severely obese children. Method Twenty-four families with children aged 8–12 years who were ≥160% their ideal body weight participated in 10–12-session intervention. Participants weighed heights measured at start each session during follow-up visit 4–13 (M = 7.8) months posttreatment. Children also completed measures depressive symptoms anxiety pretreatment, posttreatment, follow-up, eating attitudes assessed pretreatment follow-up. Results One third did not complete treatment. However, program lost significant amount reported improvements depression, anxiety, that maintained over time. Discussion A short-term, was successful moderating gain most had positive effects children's mood disorder symptoms.
