摘要: Roan antelope (Hippotragus equinus) is the second-largest member of Hippotraginae (Bovidae), and widely distributed across sub-Saharan mesic woodlands. Despite being listed as "Least Concern" its African range, population numbers are decreasing with many regional Red List statuses varying between Endangered Locally Extinct. Although roan has become an economically-important game species in Southern Africa, vast majority wild populations found only fragmented protected areas, which conservation concern. Genomic information crucial devising optimal management plans. To this end, we report here first de novo assembly annotation whole-genome sequence a male from captive-breeding program. Additionally, uncover single-nucleotide variants (SNVs) through re-sequencing five individuals representing six described subspecies. We used 10X Genomics Chromium chemistry to produce draft genome 2.56 Gb consisting 16,880 scaffolds N50 = 8.42 Mb BUSCO completeness 91.2%. The includes 1.1 Gbp (42.2%) repetitive sequences. De identified 20,518 protein-coding genes. Genome synteny domestic cow showed average identity 92.7%. Re-sequencing sequencing depth 9.8x resulted identification filtered set 3.4x106 bi-allelic SNVs. proportion alternative homozygous SNVs for different subspecies, well differentiation measured by PCA, were consistent expected divergence reference among samples. valuable resource evolutionary genomic questions, actions.
