摘要: Seamless tubes type EN 1.4404 produced by hot extrusion have been internally electropolished at a mill that normally produces such from welded made rolled plate. One or two standard passes applied. The short-range surface irregularities are removed the electropolish, but long-range waviness, and with also Ra value, remains unaffected electropolishing. pitting resistance was evaluated measurement of potentials in solutions containing 500, 5000, 50.000 mg/L chloride temperatures 10 to 95°C ASTM G150 test. asextruded once surfaces very close observed pickled surface. twice mostly much improved resistance, few test results no better than parent material; this is discussed terms number pit initiation sites.
