Bioenergy revisited: Key factors in global potentials of bioenergy

摘要: The growing use of bioenergy goes hand in with a heated public debate, which conflicting claims are made regarding the amount biomass that can be sustainably used for this purpose. This article assesses current knowledge on resource potentials and interrelated factors such as water availability, biodiversity, food demand, energy demand agricultural commodity markets. A sensitivity analysis available information narrows range from 0–1500 EJ/yr to approximately 200–500 2050. In determining latter range, limitations, biodiversity protection taken into consideration.
