摘要: Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the susceptibility of Brazilian isolates Trypanosoma evansi suramin sodium. For this purpose, three T. (LPV-2005, LPV-2009 and LPV-2010) seventy mice were used, with animals divided in 10 groups (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I J) seven each group. Mice A, C infected LPV-2005; Groups E F H LPV-2010. The group J was composed by healthy or uninfected. parasitemia monitored daily through blood smear, treatment all performed days post-infection (PI), when showed increased parasitemia. D G represented positives controls, while received a single dose sodium at 10 mg kg −1 intramuscularly. treated doses , respecting an interval 24 h between dose. Negative smears from obtained after (AT), status maintained until end experiment (50 days PI). specific PCR for carried out blood, showing negative results AT. Therefore, that has same efficacy doses, as recommended therapeutic literature. Furthermore, we observed did not show resistance drug.
