Laboratory-scale controlled-atmosphere chamber for use with premium coal samples

摘要: The recent availability of premium coal samples makes it desirable to have the capability for working with these materials, in one’s own laboratory, an atmosphere which can be controlled. A controlled‐atmosphere chamber, large enough allow processing yet small fit easily ordinary has been designed and fabricated. overall cost this chamber was competitive commercially available systems. major advantages specific system include: convenient size reversible design use a limited work space; incorporation full vacuum antechamber that minimizes loss purified atmosphere; recirculating bypass valve arrangement allowing separate or combined operation oxygen moisture removal features were create unique apparatus capable both intended general applications. Compatible modular‐design chambers could purchased from commercial vendors; however, still would necessary custom fabricate recirculation meet requirements anticipated experimental work.
