摘要: The development of metal-free catalysts as an alternative to the use transition metals has gained tremendous interest in past. In catalysis, Lewis acidity is one major principles used for activation organic compounds. Improving reactivity and selectivity acids by utilizing bidentate interactions was already proposed 50 years ago. Nevertheless, product inhibition due strong binding made applications challenging many years. Recently, bis-boron compounds have been found be very effective several Diels-Alder reactions, carbon dioxide reduction, ammonia-borane dehydrogenation were reported. All three transformations are enabled catalyst at different stages during course reaction. These new useful examples illustrate great potential concept.
