摘要: Ground-based observations of auroral, geomagnetic, and radar signatures solar wind-magnetosphere coupling modes are presented. Two different categories ionospheric studied: (1) enhanced geomagnetic deflections associated equatorward displacements the cusp/cleft aurora (2) a sequence poleward moving auroral events. It is suggested that signature 1 mainly caused by directional discontinuities in interplanetary magnetic field changing geometry 2 recurring modulation reconnection rate at dayside magnetopause (flux transfer events (FTEs)), during period strong coupling. The observed placed context plasma convection, as derived from magnetometers Svalbard, Greenland, Canada, European incoherent scatter (EISGAT) radar. A suggestion for an current system explaining propagating events, i.e., FTE signatures,
