With the discovery of Tethyan Late Permian conodonts in uppermost Altuda Formation, a direct correlation lower part (Dzhulfian) with 'latest Capitanian' Glass Mountains, West Texas is possible. In Mts. there major overlap 'Capitanian' Dzhulfian (or Wuchiapingian) Stage. agreement historic definition, top Guadalupian Series (= Capitanian Stage) can now be defined transition from Mesogondolella 'babcockP (guideform most Lamar Limestone, unit type Series) to Clarkina cf. changxingensis within phylomorphogenetic continuum. The clarified relation between and removes last obstacle for using (comprised Roadian, Wordian stages, ascending order) as an international reference Middle Permian.
