摘要: Biomaterials interact with biological tissue through their surfaces. Therefore, the chemical composition and structure of biomaterial surfaces are paramount importance to biomedical tissue-engineering research applications. The use polymers modify offers advantages controlling interface architecture introducing versatile functionalities. Among several techniques surface modification such as grafting self-assembled monolayers organic molecules, layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly emerges most technique modification. is adaptive choice substrate chemistry allows incorporation a wide variety functionalities into coatings. Importantly, recent demonstration postassembly derivatization LbL films soft, hydrogel-like films, well in situ cross-linking during deposition using click approach significantly increases appeal for biomaterials. In this chapter, we discuss fundamentals macromolecules at surfaces, fabricated range mechanical properties coatings, focus on synthesis LbL-derived hydrogels promising candidate
