摘要: Abstract Despite being widely investigated, the pathogenesis of tension-type headache (TTH) continues to be debated. Among different approaches used explore mechanisms underlying TTH, clinical neurophysiology plays an important role. Studies date have focused mainly on two areas: (1) evaluation peripheral factors (i.e., by electromyography (EMG)); and (2) exploration role pain control system. In second these areas, a large number studies explored trigeminal pathways, in particular using reflexes (e.g., trigeminofacial reflex, trigeminotrigeminal reflexes). More recently, descending inhibitory system, known modulate both spinal has also been investigated. addition, several sought establish whether there are neurophysiological parameters that could markers this condition, but results were inconclusive, since some abnormalities frequently observed migraine too. This chapter critically reviews TTH. It concludes majority TTH present serious methodological flaws will overcome allow further understanding
