摘要: Ecosystems provide multiple benefits to people, including climate regulation. Previous efforts quantify this ecosystem service have been either largely conceptual or based on complex atmospheric models. Here, we review previous research topic and propose a new simple analytical approach for estimating the physical regulation of by ecosystems. The proposed metric estimates how land-cover change affects loading heat moisture into atmosphere, while also accounting relative contribution wind-transported moisture. Although feedback dynamics between land, oceans are not modeled, compares well with studies several regions. We find that ecosystems strongest influence surface climatic conditions in boreal tropical regions, where temperature changes could substantially offset magnify greenhouse-forced changes. This can be extended estimate effects changing land cover local, processes relevant society.
