摘要: Abstract The influence of a chronic phenobarbital (PhB) treatment on postnatal evolution local cerebral metabolic rates for glucose (LCMRglc) was studied in 58 structures freely moving rats. animals received daily subcutaneous injection PhB at dose 50 mg/kg between days 2 and 35 or an equivalent volume saline controls were 5 stages, i.e. 10, 14, 17, 21 days, the adult stage. Body brain weights both reduced by 6–21% over whole period studied. exposure induced significant decreases LCMRglc during pharmacological treatment, until except stage 17 as well long-term reductions rats 36 out regions These affected all systems studied, sensory limbic, hypothalamic, motor white matter areas. In addition to growth retardation, also seemed be able induce delay acquisition auditory function which matures early life. deficits energy metabolism due rat confirm behavioral have been shown previously after exposure.
