摘要: Background: Estradiol plays an important role in the regulation of collagen metabolism. Deficiency estradiol has been reported to be associated with degeneration many connective tissues. However, association and hypertrophy ligamentum flavum was seldom explored. Therefore, we studied effects on cultured cells from flavum. Methods: Primary cultures human obtained surgical specimens 14 patients undergoing spinal surgery were used investigate effect cell proliferation expression collagen, elastin, matrix metalloproteinases. Downstream pathways estrogen receptor underlying metalloproteinases also investigated. Results: In our study, revealed existence receptors both female male a gender difference. 17β-estradiol increased early (24 hours) dose dependent manner could not seen when density increased. concentration 10 -9 M decreased levels MMP-13. Adding antagonist PI3K downstream pathway reverse MMP-13 caused by estradiol. Conclusions: The results implied regulated via contributed homeostasis extracellular
