摘要: Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to report on and evaluate focus groups privacy diary/interview methods used in a qualitative study on‐line privacy. Design/methodology/approach – discursive evaluation two employed privacy, informed by situated interpretive constructivist approaches knowledge. Findings – argues for the value research privacy. It confronts positivist paradigm that informs much work field foregrounding need methodological plurality as relational, situated, dynamic contextual. deals with notion “sensitivity” well introducing often neglected issue logistical challenges research. Originality/value – contributes existing debates about employment broadly, more specifically. demonstrates range advantages use methods, providing recommendations how supplement them. opens up discussion process sensitizing participants thus “co‐construction” knowledge.
