摘要: ✓Silicone tubing (Silastic) used for ventriculoperitoneal shunts induces a fibrous connective tissue sheath around the in children and adults. Two examined 8 3 years after subcutaneous implantation showed complete tube of dense silicone tubing. The reaction was entirely quiescent. These tubes were apparently capable conveying cerebrospinal fluid some months disconnected from pump or pulled out abdomen.
