摘要: Purpose – Process redesign refers to the intentional change of business processes. While process methods provide structure projects, they limited support during actual creation to-be More specifically, existing approaches hardly develop an ontological perspective on what can be changed from a design point view and procedural guidance how derive possible alternatives. This paper aims structured creation. Design/methodology/approach Using space exploration as theoretical lens, we conceptual model for processes, which facilitates systematic alternatives along different dimensions. We utilized established method taxonomy development constructing our model. First, derived dimensions processes underlying characteristics through literature review. Second, conducted semi-structured interviews with professional experts. Third, evaluated artifact three real-world applications. Findings identified 19 that are grouped into layers specified by characteristics. Guiding questions illustrative examples help deploy these in practice. Taken together, form “Business Design Space” (BPD-Space). Research limitations/implications Practitioners use BPD-Space explore, question, rethink various respects. Originality/value The complements explicating It abstracts specific flows representations supports unconstrained alternative designs.
