摘要: Abstract We analyzed a unique data set of livestock numbers in the Mongolian southern Gobi. In novel approach, we combined biophysical on precipitation and pasture biomass productivity with fine wool prices from 1981 through 2015 to investigate dynamic patterns responses Mongolia's Using piecewise structural equation modeling enabled us disentangle effects politico-economic factors species composition, paying particular attention singular transition centrally planned free-market economy that happened Mongolia 1992. Our analysis reveals were both important determinants numbers, highlights singularity 1992 as single-largest driver dynamics period investigated.
