摘要: The ejection of an argon plasma produced in a large-radius pinch discharge chamber from axial orifice one electrode is studied photographically, and with magnetic probes. development the within found to be disturbed very little by presence large aperture, but luminous front current sheet are observed diffract radially axially outward through orifice, establishing exhaust plume that embodies densities fields. intense column created radial also expands out eventually overtaking piercing previously ejected diffracted front. In some cases velocity this expansion exceeds prior interior motion, indicating significant recovery thermal energy resident column.
