Experimental demonstration of a high-power slow-wave electron cyclotron maser based on a combined resonance of Cherenkov and anomalous Doppler interactions.

摘要: A slow-wave electron cyclotron maser consisting of an oversized corrugated waveguide and axially injected beam has been demonstrated experimentally. At resonance, the output rf power is strongly enhanced. Maximum 200 kW with electronic efficiency 4% at 19.5 GHz obtained for voltage 35 kV current 150 A. The oscillation observed to be a periodic ${\mathrm{TM}}_{01}$ mode. enhancement microwave radiation estimated caused by combined resonance Cherenkov interactions anomalous Doppler shifted interaction. \textcopyright{} 1996 American Physical Society.
