摘要: Surface anharmonicity has been measured on Cu(110) by examining the temperature dependence of surface phonons with atomic motion normal to using high-resolution electron-energy-loss spectroscopy. At Brillouin zone center {bar {Gamma}} energy {ital MS}{sub 7} resonance decreases 3.2 meV and intrinsic width increased 8.6 as increases from 21 766 K. Energy decrease increase are also observed at edge Y}} in S}{sub 3} phonon. The percentage is same both phonons. Direct comparison bulk-phonon measurements shows that 4.1--4.8 times greater than bulk.
