摘要: Mitigation against increasing carbon dioxide, CO2, in the atmosphere is uppermost environmental research due to its negative effects and most effective approach area of underground storage. In this research, a model was developed study possible alteration porosity permeability during CO2 injection Kwale sandstone reservoir, shales, Imeri oil sand Ota Kaolinitic clay. The proposed combined Timur irreducible water saturation equation Coates-Dumanoir equation, describe influence on reservoir permeability. gave values ranging from 0.06 milliDarcy 92.46 for sandstones shale; 2.01 10.2 1.8 clay samples. comparison, 0.0 634 milliDarcy; Tixier range 10053 6.68 - 8550 while Aigbedion -3.7 5.94 milliDarcy. published sands ranges 0.8 87 During it discovered that into resulted an increase sandstone, which indication reaction between injected formation. This made formation potential storage reservoir. It concluded black shale lacked integrity as stored gas may migrate nearby reservoirs. grey recommended there observed with form new minerals will make remain underground. too porous recommended, reservation, moderate initial reducing CO2. no single variation time samples considered but second degree polynomial immediately after has exponential relationship time/porosity some days injection. Moreover, conducted leakage being drilled or produced. create drilling problems side effect properties mud place. producing affect property negatively be need further treatment crude at surface
