摘要: The evolutionary history and taxonomy of worm-like snakes (scolecophidians) continues to be refined as new molecular data are gathered analyzed. Here we present additional evidence on the phylogeny these snakes, from morphological 489 DNA sequences, propose a taxonomic framework for family Typhlopidae. Of 257 named species typhlopid 92 now placed in phylogenies along with 60 yet described. Afrotyphlopinae subfam. nov. is distributed almost exclusively sub-Saharan Africa contains three genera: Afrotyphlops, Letheobia, Rhinotyphlops. Asiatyphlopinae Asia, Australasia, islands western southern Pacific, includes ten Acutotyphlops, Anilios, Asiatyphlops gen. nov., Cyclotyphlops, Grypotyphlops, Indotyphlops Malayotyphlops Ramphotyphlops, Sundatyphlops Xerotyphlops Madatyphlopinae occurs only Madagascar one genus: Madatyphlops Typhlopinae New World four Amerotyphlops Antillotyphlops Cubatyphlops Typhlops. Scolecophidians most ancient (deeply-branching) group living their relationships track plate tectonics better than any other vertebrate group. Molecular reveal large numbers undescribed species, inferring that true diversity greatly underestimated.
